How often should I post on social media?

Any social media manager or content creator will tell you that consistent posting is a key to their success. But what is consistency? Consistency is not over-doing something and it's not an all or nothing. The official definition is to act or do in the same way over time, especially so as to be fair or accurate. In this blog, we will be focusing on how often you should post on social media per week.

How often should I post on social media?

The general rule for consistency is four to five times. For a healthy, balanced diet, you should eat at least 5 varieties of fruit and vegetables per day; to increase your general fitness, it's recommended to exercise four to five times per week. We can assume consistent posting on social media means posting 4-5 times per week minimum. However, social media platforms are constantly updating their algorithms, adding new features and changing the rules of engagement. This means what worked last year may not work this year and so its important to keep up-to-date with the algorithms and trends regularly.

What should I post on social media?

Never post for the sake of it, just to get something out there. What to post on your platforms depends on your industry, but always ensure it's relatable to your targeted audience. Awareness days can be a great way to generate ideas for social media posts to engage your followers and speak on what is important to you, your brand and what supports your ethics and values. Posting office photographs or company updates in general such as events happening and what the staff have been up to shows the brand has personality and real people on their team.s
